What kind of coffee drinker are you?

Here at Jones Brothers we cater for everyone whether you prefer a lovely Latte, a marvelous Macchiato, a more-ish Mocha or an excellent Espresso. Of course, we only use the top quality beans full stop and that means 100% Arabica, all the way.

But ever thought about what coffee your personality lends itself to?

A clinical psychologist called Ramani Durvasula carried out a pretty cool study involving over 1,000 coffee drinkers to assess their various personality traits. The results showed some definitive strong patterns between the coffee people drink and their personality traits. A similar study carried out by two body language experts, for their book, “The You Code” showed that our caffeine choices revealed much about our self-esteem, stress levels and even our sex lives.

Espresso

You tend to be moody, a good worker and pretty goal-driven. You actually like the taste of coffee, which is a rare but admirable trait. You like to work hard and play hard and when it comes to love, you’re more well-known for being an experienced, consummate lover rather than overly reliable or loyal.

Double Espresso

You’re practical and hard working. You like knowing that one shot just doesn’t do it for you anymore. Leadership comes to you naturally.

Espresso Macchiato

You’re traditional, reserved and not a great fan of foamy mustaches.

Black Coffee

Straight up and straightforward, you’re totally into minimalism and take a direct, no-nonsense approach to life. Whilst sometimes difficult, you’re still a rewarding partner or friend.

Americano

You’re calm and conscientious with a particular affinity for the simple things in life.

Mocha

You’re fun loving and creative. You don’t really like the taste of coffee but you do need a pick-up so it’s time to improvise.

Latte

You’re reflective, indecisive and have an overwhelming need to people please. In a world of unknowns, you like to play it safe and you may well have a secret penchant for cuddly toys.

Cappuccino

You’re warm hearted, optimistic and potentially an extrovert. You like froth and bubble, tending to neglect the smaller details, and at times are even oblivious. You’re probably no stranger to being told to wipe the foam off your lip and when it comes to lovin’, a little imagination goes along way

Iced Coffee

You’re assertive, outspoken, a fan of straws and not dictated to by the seasons.

Decaf soy-milk drinker

You’re a pretty picky eco warrior, perhaps a little self-righteous and probably quite high maintenance. You’re certainly fussy and can be obsessive and controlling, when it comes to life in general and bedroom activity!

Istant Coffee

You’re cheerful and straightforward with a general attitude of ‘if it ain’t broke, why fix it’. You’re just pretty down to earth and non-pretentious. Oh and you’re quite likely to keep your socks on in bed.

Non-coffee drinker

You simply need to join the world of grown ups and start drinking the stuff. Soon, you too shall realise that coffee is one of life’s most simple yet greatest pleasures and it only takes a mere 21 days to build a habit that can last a lifetime … Make today: day one!

Expresso

Mmm… You just need to know how to pronounce the word “espresso” correctly then you can start back at the top of the list…!

Of course, these studies are intended to be more for fun than anything else as ultimately, we are no more defined by our coffee orders than we are by our star signs. It is possible after all to be a controlling latte drinker or a neurotic black-coffee drinker which is just as well, as life would be a little dull if we could all be pigeon-holed so easily. Still, bear this in mind the next time you find yourself needing a coffee fix as for certain, just a few personality patterns lurk in the bottom of that cup!
