Dark chocolate, cherries, sweet and creamy, full bodied.
This beautiful coffee from the famous coffee growing tribe of the Inga Aponte high in the mountains in the west of Colombia is one of our finest beans.
The Caturra varietal of the arabica tree was seeded here over 200 years ago and at over 2000 meters above sea level, this coffee has the ideal growing conditions, volcanic soil and climate to produce stunning flavours of dark chocolate, cherries, sweet tangerine and slight hints of pecan nuts in your cup. Soft, creamy texture and smooth bodied. Pure joy!
This is an unbelievable coffee – I have been drinking it for over 7 years. We serve this coffee at our Espresso bar in Amsterdam and it really is superb. Balanced, light to medium acidity, it has a medium body, a soft textured feel in your mouth and a lovely red cherry sweetness as it cools in the cup. I love it as an espresso, but it works fantastically well in a milk drink too. The story of the Inga Aponte tribe is fascinating and they have managed something magical with this coffee.
