I have been a fan of Guatemalan coffee for many years. It is deservedly revered as one of the most flavourful and nuanced cups in the world. And the Jalapa region in particular produces exceptional beans. Many of these small farmers that we source our green beans from have their own wet mills and drying facilities, enabling them to exert a great deal of control over the way the coffee is processed and the quality that ends up in the cup. I taste creamy chocolate and caramel fudge, hints of stone fruits, finishes with delicate citrus flavours. It has a lovely juicy acidity. I personally love it as a sweetly delicious espresso. But this coffee will also taste awesome with milk drinks like cappuccino or latte and will complement milk alternatives like Oat and Pea-protein perfectly. As a pour-over filter coffee, I detect hints of maple and orange, it has a sweet and complex character. A beautiful coffee!
