King’s Day: Cold Brew Orange Bourbon Coffee Recipe

This King's Day it's extra important to create our own feast vibe. Delicious and homemade King's Day recipes can help a lot! Since we are so crazy about coffee at Jones Brothers Coffee, but also like to have a drink, we combined the two to create an awesome cocktail: The Cold Brew Orange Bourbon - slightly old-fashioned and tougher, but so fruity and delicious! If you’re looking for a great drink to share with your friends, this one is a hit for sure.

We want to thank Kim Dekker, who is an enthusiastic coffee lover in the Jones Brothers Coffee community, that loves sharing her creative coffee recipes. Let’s create this beautiful and warming orange coffee cocktail together! Tip: prepare the cold brew the night before and leave it in the fridge overnight.

Ingrédients

  • 30 ml of Cold Brew
  • 30 ml of Cointreau orange flavoured liqueur
  • 30 ml of Jack Daniels whiskey
  • Juice from half an orange
  • 15ml of Monin caramel syrup
  • Fever-tree tonic
  • Ice cubes
  • Tools: cocktail shaker

Step 1: Prepare the Cold Brew

Mix 125 grams of coarse or medium coarse ground coffee (Kim used our Burimba Hill specialty coffee beans from Rwanda) and 500 ml of cold water. Let it sit in the refrigerator for at least 8 hours. When you’re ready for it, just filter it and enjoy! For more details check our “The New Kind - Cold Brew Filter Coffee” blog post!

Step 2: Shake, shake, shake

Fill a shaker with ice and add 30 ml of Cold Brew, 30 ml of orange liqueur, 30 ml of whiskey, the juice from half an orange, and 15 ml of caramel syrup. Shake, shake, shake for 30 seconds!

Step 3: Add the tonic

Afterwards, pour the mixture through a strainer into a whiskey glass filled with ice and fill it up with the tonic.

Happy King’s Day!
